Visa and Registration

This tends to be a lengthy process, expect about 6 months.  When we applied, we were given a 4 year work visa even though we only estimated being there a year.  The visa is a work visa that allows the primary applicant to work and bring their family.  The application process includes physicals and chest x rays for everyone in your family.

The registration in Australia is the same as the American physician's license. Yours will be temporary and is likely to restrict you to work in the hospital in which you have accepted a position, and is usually granted as an area of need registration.
