About The Company

Dream Doc Locums is a small family owned locum tenens company that was started from our living room.  We thought long and hard before putting ourselves out in "corporate America," but realized it was about creating a difference for those involved in medicine.  We make our difference by making sure the practitioner is well taken care of.  Because a happy doc makes a happy patient and a happy patient makes a happy facility.

Our interest in Locum Tenens began when we did our first locum tenens assignment in Queensland Australia in 2007.  It was such a great experience that we felt other docs in the US should get to do the same, but we wanted to offer a better experience than that offered by the agency we went with.  First, because the agency that sent us was American they had no direct contacts in Australia...and so we were essentially on our own after we arrived. They were unable to help us with housing or with the settling in process of a new country.  Second, it was obvious that the fees they had secured were much lower than those earned by the local doctors in Australia.  On renogotiating a second contract, we realized that was because the US agency was charging the hospital a high finders fee.  Our locums style is different, we are directly affiliated with an Australian agency.  We help them find American doctors and since they are in Australia they can get you the best positions for the best pay.  And when you arrive they are there to help answer any questions you may have.

In the US, we currently hold several contracts in North Dakota and in New York. Our contracts tend to be in rural hospitals that have the greatest needs as well as in midsized to large community hospitals.  The benefits to these contracts are the ability to do 24 hour shifts in many places and as with any locums the ability to avoid the normal politics of the hospital.  Many of these rural hospitals have a tough time recruiting doctors, and some can close to closing their doors.  It is in these locations that we often feel as though we are truly making a difference. 

Our niche is with emergency medicine, however, we are flexible and are eager to place any great doctor who is looking to do locums work.
